Antarctica 2009

In October/November 2009, the old bull is back in business... while the young bull is having good time in tropical seas... Life is unfair!

Didier Noirot has left Europe to reach McMurdo, one of the American polar base in Antarctica. This is for a shoot, for the new forthcoming series "Frozen Planet" A team of 5 will be deployed in a remote area near Cape Washington, a few hundred miles north of McMurdo Polar Base.

The subject will be to film a colony of Penguins in this northern part of the Ross Sea.

The Happy Campers

Before going to the deep field, in a remote place like Cape Washington, you have to go on a survival course for two days on the ice... just to know what will be the conditions during the next month. Let's see how the happy campers got along...

Tea's ready (almost)

But while some are busy at the kitchen, others dig their sleeping lair...

But day time is not without danger. Cameraman Justin Maguire has often fallen into crevasses, but always survived. Some youngsters now face the danger...

Film Director Chadden Hunter has fallen into a crevasse (but will survive too!)

After a successful training, the team is ready to go. On November 2nd, the equipment is loaded and the team is waiting for good weather conditions to fly to Cape Washington...
